Out & About in the Heart of New Hampshire

Skiing is a big draw, but Cold Spring's surrounding area offers visitors the opportunity to partake in a number of activities throughout the year.

Skiing (Multiple Locations)

Staying at Cold Spring Resort during the winter months is like having your own very spacious ski cabin. The property is just 10 miles from Tenney Mountain Resort, and under an hour from Loon Mountain Resort, Cannon Mountain, Waterville Valley Resort, Gunstock Mountain Resort, and Bretton Woods. Even if you're not an avid skier, winter is a magical time to visit.

Polar Caves Park (Rumney)

During the Ice Age, a glacier moved across the New Hampshire landscape, leaving granite boulders at the base of what is known today as Hawk's Cliff. That's the backstory of Polar Caves, a family attraction that is popular during the summer months, when the temperatures inside the caves are considerably cooler than outside. Polar Caves also features an animal exhibit, which is home to ducks and fallow deer.

Drive up the Auto Road (seasonal), ride the Cog Railway, or take a hike, if you’re up for a challenge. At the top, there’s a visitor center with exhibits, snacks, and shelter from the wind.
